Scott LaMunyon
Scott LaMunyon is a Legal Counsel at Amurabi, an award-winning legal innovation studio, and www.fairpatterns.com, a platform dedicated to fight against dark patterns and train all stakeholders to avoid them. Scott combines his passion for people and wide variety of global experiences to improve the law wherever and whenever he can. After studying in the United States, England, and Paris, he has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychological Sciences from Kansas State University and the University of Hertfordshire, Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law, and Masters in European Law from Paris Panthéon-Assas University. Professionally, Scott has extensive experience in the legal worlds of private practice, enforcement, and global tech startups.
These experiences help Scott take on his work at Amurabi with a human-centric focus, which he believes is the way every part of the law should be approached - especially privacy. Law affects every person every day, so it should be tailored to people, not rules we follow “because that’s how it’s always been done.” Scott works with his team to bridge the gap between the law and its users by combining design, neuroscience, and plain language to transform legal documents and processes into actionable tools to empower users.
